28th All Karate Championship 2012
ORGANIZED BY Shito-Ryu Karate School of India
On 2nd August, 2011, as a gift to Mrs. Sengupta on her birthday, we started the Karate Dojo at school for parents and other adults. Ten of us have continued regularly since then under the tutelage and training from a marvelous teacher (Senseii) Mr. Haridas. He is a 7th Dan black-belt. A thinking man with high values with over 20 years as a teacher.
Prakash Khanzode is one of the students in our Dojo. (His son is a student of our school, now going to Std 3). Prakash attended the Karate championship at Chail, Himachal Pradesh. He represented our teacher, our Dojo and Vidya Valley School at Chail.
What a wonderful representative he has been, grabbing gold in the Men's Kata for Brown Belts and below. Kata is a set of moves which have to be executed perfectly - motion and timing.
Prakash was competing against many students who have been learning for years. His Gold is a tribute to his sincerity, perseverance and, most of all, to the excellence of our teacher, Sensei Haridas.
To the other students of our Dojo, Prakash is an inspiration.
To other parents, I hope it inspires you to contact us to join the Dojo. Besides Karate, we have learnt to take time for ourselves, to work way beyond what we thought was our capability. And better health.
Regards
Vivek Gupta
