The First ICSE Results
Dear Children, A very big congratulatory hug for my students!! Thank you children for a job well done!! It is difficult to convey my joy and happiness on this day. I know that I speak for all the teachers, who are as overwhelmed by emotion as I am. The children worked very hard and their results prove it.
During the past months many parents and others have asked me whether we are confident that ALL the children will "get through". The teachers and I have always had the confidence that the children will not just "get through" but "sail through" – which they have done. For once I am happy to say, "I told you so"!! The results were to be announced at 3:00 p.m. today, during a scheduled power cut. But there was no way that I was going to wait for power to be restored at 4:30. So I commandeered the use of Internet facilities at my husband's office to download the result. I believe that the office is still trying to recover from my scream of joy when I saw the results.
Let me quote to you the last line of the mark-sheet:
Entered:20 Appeared:20 Passed:20 Failed:0 Absent:0
I love reading it again and again!! Passed:20!! I love reading it again and again!! Passed:20!!
More than half the children have passed with distinction (75% and above) with Sanjana Mulay leading the group with 89%.
Pallavi Kulkarni and Akhil Oswal follow very closely with 88% and 86% respectively.
Sameep Shah, with 94 in Computer Applications, gets credit for the highest marks in any subject!
Three children cracked Math with 92%.
ALL the children sailed through Hindi with marks varying between 76% and 92%!!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!
I measure my success through the children that graduate from this school. But my parameters for success are many:
Are you caring and kind people?
Do you bond together and have a love for your school and respect for your teachers?
Are you sincere in your thoughts and actions?
Are you tough?
Do you love your country above ALL else?
When the going gets tough, can you still laugh?
Can I trust your given word above all else?
and finally,
How did our children perform in the final board exam? Once again, thank you children and congratulations for a job very well done. I can't help but remember the times when we had to really push you (when threats and entreaties failed to get your nose to the grindstone). I know how much effort the teachers have put in too. We really need to admire their dedication.
May you always work hard. I have faith that you will succeed in everything that you work at.
With all my love,
Nalini Sengupta
