Parents,
You must realise my complete frustration and pain having to issue a notice like this. I believe that parents are completely responsible for their children.
As parents, it is our duty to teach our children to be responsible for their actions.
But, as parents, our responsibility never ends.
If the child is negligent then it is still my responsibility that I did not teach my child better.
Therefore, the punishment the children will undergo should be owned by their parents.
That is my pain.

Acknowledgement of Notices and Detention for children
Dear Parents,
There is a scare in the city regarding Swine Flu. Many parents have anxiouslty enquired about the actions the school is taking to prevent the spread of this illness.
Yesterday we have issued a very important notice regarding the action to be taken by all of us. It has been stressed on the children that the notice has to be acknowledged by the parents in the communication book. Despite all this your child, amongst many others, has either not brought back the acknowledgement. Some children claim that they have shown the notice but parents have not signed the communication book despite the bold “It is MANDATORY to acknowledge this letter on page-18 or page-126 of the communication book.
Lost or ignored notices have been our bane. That is why we made a special page in the communication book (at the end) to record notices and acknowledgements. The children have been repeatedly told to get the acknowledgements. The vast majority does. Unfortunately, there is a significant number who do not.
Given the seriousness of the situation, given the concern raised by parents, given our own concern and worry, I am extremely upset about the negligence of parents in this matter and I intend to take action on this.
The children of Std 5 to Std 10, who have come without an acknowledgement, will be detained at school on Thursday and Friday (30th and 31st July) from 2:40 till 3:40. Parents will have to arrange to pick up your child from Reliance Fresh (on Sus Road).
For children who are part of the School Choir and have scheduled practice on these afternoons, I will decide their punishment/detention next week and inform you.
Parents of junior classes: Your child is too young to bear the responsibility. It is your responsibility to check the communication book EVERY DAY and sign the homework page.
